Tips on How to Save Money on Grab Rides
Back in March 2018, Grab and NTUC FairPrice tied up to launch a subscription called SCORE, which allows you to enjoy 20% – 50% savings on your Grab rides. The SCORE subscription costs $29.99 for the first year and $49.99 from the second year of subscription.
Here are some the savings when you subscribe for SCORE:
- You can get 20% off on your rides every month after taking the first 4 rides. The discount per ride is capped at $4 and up to 30 redemptions per month. So if you use Grab every day, you can recover the cost of the subscription within one month.
- You can also get 50% off on all your rides on the third Monday of every Calendar month. The discount per ride is capped at $6 and up to 5 redemptions per day.
In addition, you also get FairPrice benefits such as:
Grab has provided some more details about how much a customer can save on Grab rides using SCORE:
A consumer who takes a S$15 Grab ride to and from work on weekdays would save S$102 each month, and S$1,224 each year. The same consumer who shops for S$200 worth of groceries and/or personal care products once a fortnight at FairPrice, FairPrice Finest, FairPrice Xtra, Unity Pharmacies and/or Warehouse Club will save another S$130 each year.
As you can see, SCORE is a great way to save money on your Grab rides especially if you use it regularly. Please note the SCORE subscription is only available in Singapore and to a Singaporean citizen. If you’re traveling to Singapore you can’t avail of it.

The process of redeeming the 20% discount is very simple.

Back in April 2017, Lazada and Redmart had also launched a programme, called LiveUp, will offer users benefits such as rebates and discounts for Netflix, Uber, UberEats, Taobao Collection and Grab. It was a way to counter Amazon’s Prime membership which was expected to officially launch in Singapore shortly.
As part of the programme, you not only get 5% rebate and free delivery on your orders on Lazada and Redmart, you also get $10 off every 10th ride on Grab. The rewards are however capped to a max of $10 rewards per member up to December 2018.
The LiveUp membership costs $28.80 for the first year and $49.90 from the second year of subscription. So it may not offer as many discounts as the SCORE subscription, but you can easily recover the costs of the membership and save money on your Grab rides.
